Rebrand
Simply Garlic, 2023
Simply Garlic, a small family farm nestled in the Southern Adirondacks’ Champlain Valley that touts family-farm-to-table goodness with surprising twists like garlic-infused hot sauces and salsa, was looking for a rebrand that would speak to their roots while allowing them to stand apart from the competition. Three concepts were initially proposed with final branding designed by Terese Garcia.
Concept One draws from my own family’s 30s-era enamel-topped farmhouse table, blending gritty textures with a refined serif typeface and an elegant pattern to evoke nostalgia in a modern kitchen. Concept Two is bold and organic, featuring playful branding and icons that highlight the full range of Simply Garlic products and a spicier side of garlic.

Packaging & Merchandise
Simply Garlic, 2023
Building on Simply Garlic's rebrand, which featured a bold yet earthy logo design, I created an icon system of stamp-inspired illustrations. These icons incorporate a gritty texture that echoes the logo, evoking a sense of hard work on a small farm. I then used this iconography to develop a brand pattern that reflects Simply Garlic's multi-faceted personality, with illustrations that highlight the farm’s diverse products, dedication to freshness, and commitment to being locally grown and family owned.
In addition to brand expansion, I designed a suite of packaging materials, including sticker labels, a recipe sticker, and a brand-patterned seal. The packaging showcases the brand’s iconography and pattern, complemented by an expanded palette of sun-warmed, farm-fresh colors reflecting Simply Garlic’s variety of product flavors. I also proposed designs for shipping packaging made from tactile, recyclable materials like craft paper and cardboard, as well as merchandise designs perfect for a day at the farm or farmers' market.
